You are an agile person who can plan, organize, and coordinate the delivery of administrative and clerical support to the Director and Managers of Legislation and Policy Support Services.

You have: 

  • Completion of a Secondary education
  • At least 2 years of clerical/administrative experience handling high volumes of documentation within tight timelines
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail coupled with good data entry and problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills with a strong customer service orientation
  • Strong organization, time management and teamwork skills
  • Communication (oral and written), influence and negotiation skills to negotiate service level agreements, and develop and deliver effective and persuasive presentations on critical information technology issues
  • Problem solving and analytical skills to analyze and troubleshoot complex system issues as required
  • Research skills to research industry standards, policies, procedures, frameworks, etc. with respect to security controls

 

Nice to have:

  • Completion of a college diploma in legal/office administration, paralegal, law clerk, or a related field

 

What you will do: 

  • Review, track, route all assessment appeal related documents/correspondence received and maintain the Work Management System (WMS) in order to meet MPAC’s procedural obligations for upcoming hearings
  • Reconcile monthly Assessment Review Board (ARB) and MPAC appeal data to ensure all active appeals are accurately captured in WMS and conduct any required follow-up
  • Maintain a library of hard copy and electronic copies of all ARB Decisions, Board Orders, RAFs etc and assist staff with document retrieval as required
  • Assist in triaging of Statement of Issues (SOI’s) from Appellants/Representatives and conduct appropriate routing and follow-up to ensure adherence to timelines
  • Schedule internal branch meetings / sectional training sessions, and arrange venue logistics
  • Provide administrative support services to the Case Management location staff
