Job Description
What makes you great for this role?
We are seeking a professional to coordinate accessibility, privacy, and records compliance activities and projects, ensuring legislative requirements are met while supporting management in interpreting legislation, identifying and removing barriers, and recommending policies. This role provides senior-level policy, research, and risk mitigation support for privacy, freedom of information, and records management initiatives. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional to ensure organizational compliance while enhancing accessibility, privacy, and records management processes

You have:
- A post-secondary degree in public administration, law, political science, library sciences, or a related field
- Proficiency/expertise in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), experience with accessibility, accommodation, and equity matters; including proficiency/expertise with privacy legislation, preferably M/FIPPA, but it can be PHIPPA, PIPEDA, Privacy Act, etc
- Knowledge of quasi-judicial tribunals, including disclosure, mediation, and adjudication processes
- An understanding of the Ontario Human Rights Code or Canadian Human Rights Act
- Familiarity with records management, file classification, and electronic systems
- Insights into social media, internet communication, and artificial intelligence
- Competence in risk management, mitigation, and assessment techniques
- Strong project management, communication, research, analytical, and time management skills
What you will do:
- Lead/participate in committees and working groups to coordinate/deliver initiatives
- Provide advice, recommendations, and research to integrate privacy, accessibility, and records management into corporate processes and delivery systems
- Develop and disseminate information, training, and awareness programs
- Stay updated on trends, case law, and best practices through research and analysis
- Conduct risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend/coordinate corrective actions
- Review information and records for FOI disclosures and respond to statutory demands
- Investigate privacy complaints and breaches, including handling appeals and representations for the Information and Privacy Commissioner
- Collaborate with legal counsel, government agencies, tribunals, and law enforcement on accessibility and privacy matters
