You are a detailed oriented person who can create AutoCAD drawings from information on surveys, various plans, maps and deeds.

You have: 

  • Completion of high school
  • Completion, or in progress of a post-secondary education in AutoCAD
  • Good analytical skills to perform mathematical calculations to determine land areas
  • Knowledge of property assessment terminology, policies and procedures and appropriate sections of related legislation including the Planning Act, Surveys Act, Municipal Act, and the Assessment Act
  • Understanding of arcs, splines, latitude and longitude, imperial and metric dimensions
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents, survey plans, maps and sketches pertaining to ownership and descriptions of property to use various software tools
  • Knowledge of survey computation
  • Proficiency in the use of applicable software programs and database applications
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Nice to have: 

  • At least 6 months of previous experience in Computer Aided Design/Drafting


What you will do: 

  • Interpret surveys, plans, M-Plans, Condo Plans, maps, metes and bounds descriptions in order to complete drawings of appropriate lots and blocks
  • Calculate land area for different property types using arc, spline, latitude and longitude, imperial and metric dimension information
  • Draw and calculate M-Plans to expedite M-Plan process
  • Document and provide required information to internal staff
  • Determine correct Assessment Roll Number by using name/address search, reviewing associated survey(s) and searching Legal Descriptions
  • Provide Easement deeds as per routing list to the required field offices for further review
  • Conduct and complete process controls within Valuation Data Services
  • Liaise with Valuation Data Services Supervisors and staff as required to resolve quality related issues in regards to area calculations
  • Maintain records in the Document Tracking System
