Become a Cloud Operations Analyst - Temporary Assignment up to 6 months with MPAC

Job Description

You provide operational and technical support to the adoption and integration of Cloud technologies within the IT environment by supporting the evaluation and deployment of Cloud services, systems and applications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

You have: 

  • Post secondary degree/diploma in a related field, completed or in progress
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within IT required, preferably supporting a Cloud native environment
  • Intermediate Cloud Certification required
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of IT systems environments including operating systems, networking, applications, platforms, and databases
  • Ability to manage competing priorities requiring flexibility, time management, multi-tasking and ongoing prioritization of work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Good attention to detail and judgement to determine when to escalate service issues to senior technical staff
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with the willingness to share ideas and solutions to technology challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience providing quality customer service is essential
  • Perform duties off hours and on an on-call basis as required
     

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting a Cloud native environment
  • Certification in AWS (Associate Level)
  • Knowledge and experience with scripting and CI/CD pipelines

 

What you will do: 

  • Provide front line technical support to MPAC staff regarding issues with cloud services, systems and applications
  • Support Cloud Operations with incident response including investigating alerts and participating in issues resolution
  • Support the Cloud Operations team with the technical setup of Cloud resources and with the development of scripting to automate everyday tasks
  • Provide support in times of coverage to set up CI/CD deployment pipeline, monitoring, configurations management and incident response and deploy workloads using Cloud native tools and technologies
  • Maintain the patch management process and provide technical support to the agile development teams
  • Utilize existing documentation and frameworks to assist with general Cloud Governance
  • Keep up-to-date with trends and upcoming technological advancements
