Job Description

You are a detail-oriented, analytical professional who values trusted, well-governed data; familiar with Data Governance tool such as Collibra. You combine technical insight, business acumen, and strong relationship-building skills to work effectively across teams and handle complex data-related matters. This role focuses on maintaining metadata, supporting workflow development, and coordinating day-to-day data governance operations. You’re comfortable working within established frameworks while identifying opportunities for enhancement and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

You have:
- Post-secondary education (college or university) in Business Administration, Data Management or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years of property assessment–related experience, with strong knowledge of business processes and enterprise data structures
- Experience with data governance standards, policies, and best practices and tools
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Assessment Act, Municipal Act) and the ability to interpret contracts and agreements
- Familiarity with assessment terminology, property assessment and taxation legislation, and technology-based assessment products
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills to review, evaluate, and interpret data using software/languages like Power BI, Python, SAS, Java, SQL, etc
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships, and manage sensitive or non-compliance issues with sound judgment
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
What you will do:
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s data governance tools and framework, including policies, standards, procedures, workflows and quality controls
- Assist in maintaining the data governance roadmap and coordinating activities of the Data Governance Working Group
- Research systems and processes, profile data, and validate data quality requirements to improve operational efficiency
- Maintain and enhance data governance tools, metrics, and documentation to ensure transparency, traceability, and effective communication
- Monitor and track data change requests, ensuring compliance with governance workflows and change management processes
- Support compliance efforts by monitoring adherence to policies, standards, and key performance indicators
- Promote consistency, quality, integrity, and accessibility of shared data across the organization
- Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to management based on governance metrics and best practices
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in data standardization and information management across the organization
