You are a proficient team player who can provide financial and analytical support to senior management in the development and execution of corporate financial modelling and assessment of financial practices against current accounting standards and regulations.

You have: 

  • CPA designation or enrolled as CPA Candidate (CPA Ontario)
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, business planning, and project management 
  • Experience and knowledge of Canadian accounting and corporate tax standards
  • Project management experience, providing financial analysis and advice at various levels of the organization
  • Good knowledge of financial planning and resource allocation to develop and analyze budget proposals, and experience preparing reports, highlighting key financial metrics
  • Experience in systems analysis and development methodologies within large corporate environments 
  • Thorough understanding of financial systems and proficient in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, follow-up, and problem-solving skills


Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with corporate valuations, performance measurement, and business case development
  • Knowledge of SAP


What you will do:

  • Assess financial practices and future strategic decisions against current accounting standards and regulations; ensure that financial reporting complies with standards and industry regulations
  • Provide projects leadership and financial planning support; preparing reports and briefing materials, and delivering analysis on key issues for senior management
  • Evaluate Board reports on financial impact as related to business case, strategic direction, alignment with corporate objectives and affordability; providing recommendations to enhance efficiencies
  • Provide financial analysis and costing on strategic projects and aiding in formulation of product and/or service costs for sale
  • Manage the purchasing card program including preparing spend analysis reports, monitoring usage and compliance to internal policies and providing training when needed
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data extracts and reports through audits and gather/analyze qualitative and quantitative data related to new program/initiatives development
  • Audit/evaluate Board and senior management spending and prepare reports on key findings
  • Liaise with stakeholders and government agencies to identify trends, best practices, and directions affecting corporate financial strategies
  • Collaborate with MPAC senior management to deliver financial projects, assess business needs, and conduct financial impact, ensuring adherence to policies and best practice in the broader public sector
  • Review business improvement projects and business cases for funding needs, resource impact, and budget adjustments
  • Conduct and/or coordinate post-implementation reviews of finance programs/ projects and the analysis of spend relating to projects, programs, business plans, budgets and the strategic plan
