Become a Human Resources Specialist (2) - Permanent (1) & Temporary Assignment up to 9 months (1) with MPAC

 

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. What we do provides the very foundation that municipalities use to base the property taxes needed to pay for the services we use every day.

You are an HR Business Partner who thrives on providing HR advice to an assigned client group in the areas of Labour Relations, Recruitment and Retention, Performance Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Health and Safety.  You enjoy working cross functionally to collaborate and innovate to achieve business outcomes.

You have: 
•    University Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business or other relevant discipline
•    Combination of 5 to 7 years’ experience in labour relations and human resources
•    Strong track record of achieving high results 
•    Ability to understand business priorities, issues and people impacts 
•    Demonstrated ability to create and build multiple partnerships 
•    Excellent writing, problem-solving and analytical skills to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data and develop cost-effective solutions 
•    Working knowledge in MS Office Suite applications:  Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
 
Nice to have:

•    Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or in the process of obtaining
•    Experience with SAP ERP or SuccessFactors
•    Certified Change Management Certificate (PROSCI)
 
What you will do:
•    Provide guidance, support, advice and training to assigned client group and HR team members, ensuring consistent application of the collective agreement and policies and procedures 
•    Build relationships with managers to understand their needs and assist with ensuring effective strategies are in place 
•    Conduct investigations pertaining to Code of Conduct violations
•    Participate in Strategic Projects for HR Programs and Initiatives
•    Collaborate with Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism office on advancing Equity in all areas of Human Resources
•    Liaise with medical advisors and specialists as required to identify issues and develop recommendations/return to work and job accommodation agreements as appropriate
•    Develop strategies to proactively mitigate risk and promote health and safety in the workplace
•    Participate in policy updates and creation
•    Ability to travel occasionally to Field Offices throughout Ontario when required
