You are a collaborative, team-player who can assist the Information Technology branch by providing operational and technical support of new and enhanced systems, sub systems and services for a range of IT solutions.

You have:
- Recent graduate within the last year or enrolled in a Computer Science program or related field in IT with a focus on Programming and Systems Development
- Knowledge of computer science, data structure, design frameworks, programming languages
- The ability to write well documented and quality code, with the use of source version control
- Front-end web development experience with Angular or ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
- Ability to build dynamic single page applications
- Open communication – an ability to clearly convey thoughts, both written and verbally and proactive in asking questions to seek clarification and understanding
- Self-motivation, ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and work with minimal supervision
- A strong passion for technology by keeping up-to-date with trends and upcoming technological advancements
Nice to have:
- An understanding of agile methodology
- Preference for those with interest or back-end experience with developing RESTful API, Python, Java, Springboot, Drools, Flowable, AWS Lambda, AWS S3, AWS SQS
- Preference for those with interest or experience in database development with Postgres, SQL, ACS DynamoDB, or Apache Spark
- Preference for those with interest or experience with geospatial concepts, including using Google Maps and Mapbox
- Preference for those with interest or experience using cloud services, particularly serverless technology with AWS and/or Azure
- Preference for those with interest or experience in Quality Assurance concepts and test automation using Playwright or similar tools
- Preference for those with interests in AI concepts including Machine Learning
What you will do:
- Support staff within the Information Services department, by documenting simple business problems in draft and reviewing existing code, and related programs and/or process
- Assist with systems analysis on the impact of proposed maintenance or feature enhancements requests
- Assist with User Interface coding and debugging based on given technical requirements
- In collaboration with IT staff, write high quality, well documented and tested code, based on inputs and direction from the Manager, Information Technology
- Assist with the creation of simple prototypes and proof-of-concept efforts including mock demos, ensuring that quality attributes (performance, scalability, extensibility) are met
- Participate and assist, when required, in the review of detailed designs to ensure that they meet functional and nonfunctional requirements and comply with architectural standards
