Become a Lead AWS Cloud Architect (IT Staff Engineer) with MPAC

Job Description

You have: 

  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive development experience in a senior technical capacity
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a lead capacity demonstrating effective leadership skills to direct and coordinate a team of professionals in architecting cost effective, modern and secure solutions
  • Expert level experience designing and architecting cloud-based solutions that are customer focused
  • Hands on experience designing and architecting complex applications in an AWS cloud environment, implementing AWS best practices ensuring that all application and security best practices are met
  • Understanding of industry security practices and compliancy including ISO 27001/ISO27002 and ISO 27017
  • Demonstrated experience with open-source operating systems, security tools and cloud environments through to production and maintenance
     

What you will do: 

  • Provide technical leadership to project teams, taking responsibility and accountability for initiatives and decisions; balancing multiple project perspectives/overall department project needs and acting as a trainer/coach/guide/mentor on projects and expert resource 
  • Lead technology development processes on team; provides leadership and mentorship to the team to drive quality development quickly and effectively 
  • Ensuring IT policies, procedures, industry standards and best practices are consistently applied, while ensuring for quality and sound data security measures and requirements are in place 
  • Provides specialized technical expertise in a variety of fields (i.e., design/architecture, security, applications or other) as a clear subject matter expert
  • Define, develop and design and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for various initiatives 
  • Develops and presents recommendations to IT management/stakeholders to adopt new/improved solutions that meet needs and support IT strategic directions
