You have:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Health Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with 3 years of experience in disability/leaves case management or developing and implementing corporate mental health and wellness programs, within a unionized environment
- Strong understanding of, and ability to critically use information pertaining to medical conditions, available treatments, duration guidelines and resulting work restrictions
- Knowledge of, and the ability to interpret, policies, Collective Agreements, Provincial and Federal Legislation (e.g. Human Rights, Workers Compensation Act, and Psychological Health & Safety Standard
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills; confident and credible combined with demonstrated tact, diplomacy and objectivity
- Demonstrated ability to listen compassionately and facilitate discussions empathetically while navigating complex, personal employee situations confidentially
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience conducting research including data analysis and trends
- Proficiency in Disability Case Management Systems
- Proven ability to facilitate presentations and workshops to large and small groups encompassing a variety of wellness topics as requested either in person or via webinar
Nice to have:
- Certification in Disability Management (CDMS)
- Experience working within a unionized environment
What you will do:
- Coordinate accommodation and return-to-work plans with employees, healthcare providers, insurers and leaders
- Assess and implement appropriate workplace accommodations, modified duties, and supports
- Design and deliver wellness programming, toolkits, and resources tailored to employee needs
- Monitor and evaluate wellness initiatives and leaves programs, making data-driven improvements
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure efficient, compassionate and timely support
- Provide guidance and training to leaders and employees on risk and responsibility for programs or practices related to disability management, mental health awareness in the workplace, and wellness
- Develop strong internal and external partnerships to promote a healthy and inclusive workplace culture
- Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in wellness, accommodation, and disability management
- Represent MPAC on external wellness and health advisory groups when required
