Become a Senior Business Systems Analyst - Temporary Assignment up to 18 months with MPAC

 

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. You have: 

  • Completion of post-secondary (college or university) in computer science, IT or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in business analysis supporting software development, product delivery, or integration initiatives;
  • Experience with structured data formats (e.g., JSON and XML), and data exchange between systems;
  • Proven experience leading client engagements, identifying complex business needs, and contributing to the design and delivery of effective system and/or product solutions;
  • Customer-driven attitude with the ability to develop and maintain strong business partnerships;
  • Experience documenting business, functional, and/or technical requirements;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root cause and collaborate to implement solutions;
  • Exceptional attention to detail to understand business requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical and operational requirements;
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs and/or department operations

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations;
  • Understanding of MPAC’s product offerings.

What you will do: 

  • Lead stakeholder meetings to understand business needs and document business, functional, and technical requirements for system and product enhancements;
  • Translate business requirements into actionable specifications and develop supporting documentation such as process flows, use cases, and requirement artifacts;
  • Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and impacts across systems, data, and business processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions;
  • Lead testing activities including test planning, test case development, execution support, and User Acceptance Testing coordination;
  • Support implementation and deployment activities, including readiness validation and transition to production environments;
  • Troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to implement solutions;
  • Provide operational support for systems, platforms, and products while monitoring enhancements and ensuring alignment with business requirements;
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, clients, vendors, and IT teams to ensure alignment and effective communication;
  • Develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and knowledge transfer sessions to support adoption; and
  • Lead change initiatives, conduct post-implementation reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
