You have:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible systems development and/or data engineering experience, with advanced knowledge of:
- Computer science and data engineering principles, including programming, data structures, algorithms, data modelling, data architecture and scalable data pipeline design.
- Modern software engineering and DataOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, automated testing, infrastructure as code, observability, monitoring and data quality.
- Designing cloud-native applications and modern data platforms using distributed processing, data lake/lakehouse architectures, APIs, event-driven design and messaging technologies.
- Core data engineering practices, including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, metadata management, data lineage and data governance.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior technical development role, designing and developing solutions using one or more of the following technologies:
- Python, SQL, Groovy, PostgreSQL, Amazon Web Services (AWS) including Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift and related cloud-native services, Kubernetes, OpenSearch, Apache Iceberg or Apache Hudi.
- Apache Spark, Kafka or similar streaming technologies, REST APIs, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and DevOps tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- Experience designing, developing and supporting scalable batch and near real-time data pipelines, and preparing trusted datasets for reporting, analytics, AI/ML and operational decision-making
What you will do:
- Analyze, design and deliver scalable information systems and data solutions that support business needs, analytics, automation and AI-enabled capabilities
- Lead the design and development of cloud-native applications, data platforms, APIs, integration services and reusable data products
- Design, develop, optimize and support batch and near real-time data pipelines, ELT processes and modern data storage solutions
- Build and maintain trusted data assets through data transformation, validation, governance, documentation and quality management practices
- Develop prototypes and proof of concepts, ensuring solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability and security requirements
- Establish testing, monitoring, observability and performance optimization practices to maintain reliable, high-performing production systems
- Lead technical investigations, resolve complex production issues and support the deployment and ongoing operation of enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Provide senior technical leadership, solution recommendations, effort estimates and mentorship to junior team members.
