You have: 

  • Enrollment in secondary or post-secondary education, with a preference for post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field and returning to studies in the next academic term
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Administrative and organizational skills with a high degree of thoroughness and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with multiple members of HR Team
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, composure and flexibility when faced with managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to self-motivate with a desire to learn new skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to use research tools, shared drives and other resources to find solutions and seek out advise from others
  • Comfortable working independently and as a team
  • Must meet Ontario's minimum working age for the job duties required


Nice to have:

  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and Human Resources Information Systems

 

What you will do: 

  • Support the HR teams in the development of various human resource procedures, policies and processes including but not limited to record keeping, file digitization and maintenance, spreadsheet upkeep, written correspondence, and data entry
  • Research HR best practices to inform HR processes
  • Using technology and market best practices, automate processes to increase efficiencies
  • Coordinate various functions, including resume screening and telephone interviews
  • Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals, such as but not limited to recruitment data retention project, employee recognition project, etc
  • Proactively identify procedural, process or system inefficiencies and inconsistencies and collaborate with appropriate HR teams to enhance the overall employee experience
  • Engage and participate in team meetings

 

Summer Student Wage Rates:

  • Summer Students currently enrolled in secondary school or students working solely on administrative activity: $17.20 per hour
  • Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, first-time hire: $17.95 per hour 
  • Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, returning employment: $18.95 per hour


Duration of Employment: May through to the end of August
