You have: 

  • Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technology Support, or a related field, with a confirmed return to school in September
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and common workplace technologies
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • An interest in troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when assisting users with technical issues
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must meet Ontario's minimum working age for the job duties required

 

Nice to have: 

  • A practical undersatnding of agile or collaborative team environments

What you will do: 

  • Provide front-line support to MPAC staff by assisting with basic technology issues and service requests related to hardware, software, and connectivity
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve common technical issues under the guidance of senior IT staff
  • Assist with documenting service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the IT service management system
  • Assist with basic system setup activities such as workstation configuration, software installation, and user access support
  • Help monitor and maintain technology systems to ensure reliable service delivery
  • Support the IT team in maintaining secure technology practices and following established procedures and standards
  • Participate in team discussions and service desk activities to learn how IT infrastructure services are delivered and supported across the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Summer Student Wage Rates:

  • Summer Students currently enrolled in secondary school or students working solely on administrative activity: $17.60 per hour
  • Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, first-time hire: $18.35 per hour
  • Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, returning employment: $19.35 per hour

 

Duration of Employment:  May through to the end of August
