Job Description

You have:
- Enrolment in secondary or post-secondary education, with a preference for post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field; returning to studies in the next academic term
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivation, be a team player and possess action-and-results oriented skills
- The ability to meet deadlines and implement instructions under pressure
- Must meet Ontario's minimum working age for the job duties required.
Nice to have:
- An understanding and/or demonstrated experience in writing quality code
- Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, C, Python and other programming languages
What you will do:
- Write well documented code, based on inputs, guidance and direction from the team
- Support with the creation of simple prototypes ensuring that quality attributes (performance scalability, extensibility) are met
- Support with basic implementation design, approved by the Manager, Information Technology
- Assist with system testing, ensuring that established test routines have been completed
Summer Student Wage Rates:
- Summer Students currently enrolled in secondary school or students working solely on administrative activity: $17.20 per hour
- Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, first-time hire: $17.95 per hour
- Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, returning employment: $18.95 per hour
Duration of Employment: May through to the end of August
