Become a UX/UI Senior Systems Developer/Designer - Temporary Assignment up to 12 Months with MPAC

 

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. Job Description

What makes you great for this role?

To provide technical leadership in systems analysis, User Interface/User Exerperience (UI/UX) and application design, development, configuration, and support services related to the inception, elaboration, and construction of a diverse range of architecture proof of concepts, designs and prototypes.

You have: 

  • Completion of post-secondary education in an IT related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible systems development experience and advanced knowledge of:
  • Optimal user Interface, user experience design and frontend application development that adhere to accessibility standards like WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 AAA
  • Creating user flows, journey maps, storyboards, and wireframes using tools like Figma with a portfolio to show
  • Information architecture and user-centric approach to design and a mastery of how to apply research insights into the design and development of the application experience.
  • Tools, techniques, methods, theories and principles used during systems analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, implementation, installation, operations, capacity planning and performance tuning
  • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and related methods, techniques, practices and standards to develop and/or assist with acquisition of a very diverse range of client applications, through the SDLC
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a senior technical development capacity, analyzing, designing and developing/configuring applications utilizing one or more of the following technologies: React, Python, Groovy, PostgreSQL, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML and CSS, and RESTful APIs
  • Certification, or working towards certification in Agile, AI/Data Science, Cloud, DevOps

 

Nice to have:

  • Certification earned or in progress in the following technologies would be an asset: React, Amazon Web Services, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML and CSS.

 

What you will do: 

  • Analyze and design optimal user experiences, user interfaces as part of IT solutions to meet client needs
  • Ensure that detailed designs meet required user experience expectations, functional, non-functional requirements and comply with architectural and accessibility standards
  • Create prototypes or proof-of-concept efforts and ensuring that quality attributes (performance, scalability, extensibility, and accessibility) are met
  • Create cross-platform and cross-device user experiences
  • Write high quality and well-documented code following defined coding standards
  • Create and execute unit test strategies to validate design against business and performance requirements, platform interoperability and IT architectural standards
  • Develop architectural artefacts covering all the Enterprise Architecture viewpoints (design, standards and roadmap compliance) and obtain approval from Architecture Group
  • Take a lead role in the analysis and design of architecture solutions during the application development process and life cycle 
  • Other duties as assigned
