Job Description

 

You have: 

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field
  • At least 4 years of progressively responsible combined experience in all the following areas: data analysis, project management, research planning, performance measurement and monitoring, communication for a range of audiences
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in leading or co-developing program/project performance monitoring initiatives
  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple complex research and policy projects, teams and vendors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a range of topics including housing, planning, land use, growth management, environmental issues, rural planning, socio-economic data, demographics, employment, and related issues
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the ability to develop standardized reporting routines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to articulate, visualize, report, and present key findings
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes 
  • Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, political acuity and professional discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information


Nice to have: 

  • Completion of Master’s degree 
  • Experience with business intelligence, data visualization and project management tools and software
  • Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 
  • Familiarity and knowledge of relevant and applicable Provincial legislation, policies, guidance and issues affecting communities 
  • Experience working in a non-profit and/or public sector context 
  • Knowledge of appraisal theory and assessment practices 


What you will do: 

  • Assist senior staff with in-depth, independent research and analysis as part of the implementation of the Insights Strategy and function, aligning to strategic business priorities
  • Prepare data and analysis in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Lead the implementation of standard data reporting to stakeholders, in collaboration with internal partners and subject matter experts
  • Monitor and evaluate industry analysis, government policies, legislative changes and budgets to address research and data gaps and support stakeholder policy and decision-making
  • Lead the creation of standard resources and processes to support research planning and communication
  • Oversee the development, rollout, and monitoring of goals, targets, and continuous improvement measures 
  • Continuously monitor and assess key industry developments, both internal and external (i.e., environmental scans), and facilitate the integration of business intelligence, information, and perspectives into branch activities
  • Gather data, undertake analysis and monitor and report on project results, identify gaps, develop/recommend strategies to ensure performance outcomes are achieved
  • Guide the creation and maintenance of reporting systems like PowerBI Dashboards to track performance goals 
  • Lead audience research, share knowledge to address stakeholder needs and facilitate strong relationships
  • Identify and support participation in outreach activities, including conferences, publications, and working groups
