You have:
- A post-secondary degree in a related field such as law, human rights and equity, humanities, social sciences, or equivalent relevant industry experience
- Strong relationship building and networking skills to effectively work with employees at all levels including senior management, vendors, consultants, and community outreach representatives
- Effective presentation skills to develop and deliver status updates, information sessions, presentations and briefs on EDIA matters internally to leaders, employees, and committees and to external stakeholders as needed
- Knowledge and experience in the implementation of best practices in EDIA strategies, initiatives, policies and procedures
- Understanding of analytics to develop measurable insights on EDIA initiatives and present them in a meaningful way to internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills (written, and verbal) to prepare, edit and/or review EDIA communications materials and provide advice to various departments
- Advanced project management skills to manage multiple projects, staff and maintain respectful and effective working relationships within MPAC and community groups
- Proven leadership skills to motivate, influence and build effective teams with and without formal authority
- The comfort, tact, and professionalism to interact effectively with all levels of employees up to and including the President
What you will do:
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, Social Impact and Inclusion, lead the development and implementation of MPAC’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism strategies and plans, including MPAC’s Accessibility strategies and plan, ensuring that EDIA is embedded is all facets of the organization
- Review and develop corporate policies including MPAC’s EDIA policy
- Provide subject matter expertise and information to leaders and employees, to build EDIA capacity and cultural competence
- Implement learning and development plans; transfer skills and knowledge to enhance performance of the team and provide opportunity for growth and development
- Lead the development of and coordination of MPAC committees to advance equity, accessibility, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism
- Lead EDIA projects and programs and partner with other departments
- Partner with Human Resources to identify barriers impacting equity deserving talent and work collaboratively for the removal of barriers to access, opportunity and selection
