Job Description

 

What makes you great for this role?
You are a detailed-oriented individual who can coordinate the valuation of parcelization properties, including severances, consolidations, condominiums, and M-Plans, ensuring appropriate documentation supporting the apportionment of assessed values when roll numbers are created or deleted.

You have: 

  • Completion of high school diploma
  • Ability to read and interpret property-related documents, surveys and plans
  • General understanding of Ontario Land Registration Systems
  • Ability to apply various approaches to value and multiple regression model to property values
  • General understanding of the Assessment Act, Planning Act, Municipal Act and Condominium Act
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

 

Nice to have:

  • Completion or in progress of post-secondary education in Real Property Valuation, Geography, Urban Studies or related field
  • Completion of in progress of certification in an assessment program such as; IMA, AIC, IAAO or RICS
  • 12 months of experience in property assessment or related field

 

What you will do: 

  • Determine property codes and tax classifications for parcelization plans, surveys and other documentation
  • Re-direct parcelization activity for valuation by field staff
  • Based on property classification, apply multiple regression model to residential parcels
  • Respond to enquiries from Field Valuation, Municipal Relations and/or municipal stakeholders regarding severances, consolidations and apportionments
  • Distribute Post Roll Amended Notices and Property Assessment Change Notices as appropriate
  • Support management by maintaining workflow/load statistics for severances and condominium plans
