Become a Valuation & Assessment Analyst - Temporary Assignment up to 12 Months with MPAC

You are someone with strong communications skills who can provide expert statistical data analysis, interpretation and advice in support of corporate reporting, monitoring and analysis initiatives while leading, coordinating and supporting a wide range of projects.

You have: 

  • Completion of post-secondary (college or university) education is required in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Geography or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience in a data management/analysis capacity
  • Fluency in statistical analysis software (SAS, R, Python, SPSS, etc.), data visualization tools (PowerBi, Tableau, etc.), GIS software, and databases including SQL/NoSQL
  • Intermediate project and time management skills required and the ability to co-ordinate projects across teams and departments to ensure successful completion
  • Advanced knowledge of municipal tax policy, assessment policy and legislation, valuation theory and assessment practices and procedures
  • Proficient in the use of common word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation packages


What you will do:

  • Lead and perform data-driven analyses on business data, including data preparation, statistical analysis, and machine learning to improve data assets, quality, and metrics
  • Develop tools and routines to monitor reporting performance and data accuracy, addresses any issues and escalate where necessary
  • Connect data sources, imports data and transforming data for business intelligence
  • Analyze and interpret time series results to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Generate production reports of short and long-term forecasting and planning for management's review and action on resource allocation
  • Liaise and support IT with data change management, testing products and reports as part of the data change management development cycle
  • Communicates with stakeholders throughout MPAC to identify opportunities to leverage data to drive business solutions
  • Analyze plan commitments against actual progress forecasted activities and provides recommendations to management when necessary
